County Board of Equalization

The Crook County Board of Equalization is made up of the Board of Crook County Commissioners. Their function is to provide a fair and just disposition for taxpayers who are appealing the administrative decisions of the County Assessor. The matter will be heard as a contested case, which is a trial type hearing.

The State Board of Equalization was required by the legislature to enact rules governing County Board of Equalization hearings effective January 1, 2015. Copies of these rules are available at County Board of Equalization Rules.

NOTICE: It is your responsibility to file a Statement of Appeal with the County Assessor not later than thirty (30) days after the date of the assessment schedule by mail, electronically or hand delivery or it cannot be heard by the County Board of Equalization. You will receive notice of motion and hearing dates from the County Clerk, who is the Clerk of the Board of Equalization. A Statement of Appeal is available at the attached link.

BE FURTHER ADVISED that no one can continue the thirty (30) days to appeal the assessment.
