Duties of the Clerk of District Court

 

  1. Attend each session of court
  2. File indictments, information and verdicts
  3. Process all civil and criminal cases
  4. Keeps and maintains case records, including records of judgments
  5. Process legal actions of a civil nature in which the demand or value of property involved exceeds $50,000
  6. Provide copies of divorce decrees and maintain the records of divorce proceedings
  7. Prepare appellate records
  8. Records transcripts of judgment from the Small Claims courts, and out-of-county/state judgments
  9. Schedules civil Jury and Non-Jury trials, and maintains a schedule of other types of hearings
  10. Oversee jury management
  11. Collect and disburse fines, court costs, forfeitures, fees, and service charges
  12. Collect and disburse court-ordered monies
  13. Issue Process
  14. Maintain court registry
  15. Audit guardianship and conservatorship reports
  16. Receive and distribute child support payments
  17. Compile and provide statistical data for state agencies and the judiciary
  18. Process passport applications
