Duties of the Clerk of District Court
- Attend each session of court
- File indictments, information and verdicts
- Process all civil and criminal cases
- Keeps and maintains case records, including records of judgments
- Process legal actions of a civil nature in which the demand or value of property involved exceeds $50,000
- Provide copies of divorce decrees and maintain the records of divorce proceedings
- Prepare appellate records
- Records transcripts of judgment from the Small Claims courts, and out-of-county/state judgments
- Schedules civil Jury and Non-Jury trials, and maintains a schedule of other types of hearings
- Oversee jury management
- Collect and disburse fines, court costs, forfeitures, fees, and service charges
- Collect and disburse court-ordered monies
- Issue Process
- Maintain court registry
- Audit guardianship and conservatorship reports
- Receive and distribute child support payments
- Compile and provide statistical data for state agencies and the judiciary
- Process passport applications
