Small Wastewater (Septic Systems 2000 gallons or less per day)


The Crook County Small Wastewater Regulation and Delegation Agreement became effective May 1, 2019 authorizing Crook County Growth & Development to accept, review, approve  Crook County Small Wastewater Applications for Permit to Construct and perform inspections prior to backfilling or covering of the system.

The fee to obtain a Small Wastewater Permit to Construct or As-Built Permit and Inspection is $200.00.  This fee is established by the Crook County Board of County Commissioners and reviewed by the Board from time to time.  The $200.00 fee shall be submitted with the completed application package. Please make checks payable to Crook County.

Before beginning construction of a Small Wastewater System (Septic System) a  Crook County Small Wastewater Application for Permit to Construct Package must be completed and submitted to Crook County Growth & Development for review and approval for construction by the Crook County Growth & Development Administrator by the issuance of a Permit to Construct.

Installer Certification Application

The Crook County Small Wastewater Regulation has a provision for voluntary Installer Certification. Contractors may receive Crook County Certified Installer status by applying for certification and successfully completing a small wastewater system installer examination administered by Crook County Growth & Development. The following  List of Contractors for Installing Septic Systems is provided as a courtesy to the public, ** behind the contractor’s name indicates Installer Certification.
